Criteria and procedures

1. EFR may consider applications for admission at any time during the year and will not refuse enrollment because of religion, sex, colour, ethnic origin, nationality, or parent’s occupation and political views; however the school is not equipped to educate children with learning disabilities or severe physical handicaps. We will review each child individually to see if we have adequate resources.

2. The following steps must be completed before a child is considered officially enrolled at EFR.
• A completed application form
• Annual registration fee of 100 LVL per family paid

3. For a child to be considered as definitely admitted the following documents must be provided:
• A copy of child’s birth certificate (in Latvian) or a copy of child’s passport + residency permit
• A school insurance (if the child hasn’t got one, EFR can provide one)
• 3 passport size photographs
• Required medical forms
• Signed copies of the EFR school regulations & authorizations forms
• Previous school records (if possible)
• In case of separation and custody given to one parent, a copy of the court’s decision

4. In the event of limited classroom space, children will be admitted according to the following priority system:
• Children enrolled at the school during the last school year
• Siblings (from the age of Petite Section de Maternelle)
• French speaking children (from the age of Petite Section de Maternelle)
• Non-French speaking children (from the age of Petite Section de Maternelle)

If EFR is full, families who wish to enrol their children will be put on a waiting list and the membership fee will be refunded during the Spring holidays if enrollment isn’t possible.
